About The State Fire Marshal’s Office continues to provide smoke alarms to fire departments throughout the state for installation within their jurisdictions. We have now opened our program to other organizations that do community service (churches, civic organizations, scout troops, etc.) in an effort to reach more residents. Please help spread the word.
ABOUT
We have started receiving hearing-impaired smoke alarms. These alarms are also available to fire departments and other organizations for installation. We have partnered with several organizations that work with people who are deaf and hard of hearing to help identify those in need. We hope to begin training installers for the new alarms soon.
Please contact Leigh Carole Mullins or myself if you would like to participate in the smoke alarm program or for more information.

17th Annual MAPFSE Conference:
April 16-17, 2012: Pre Conference Course
April 18-19, 2012: MAPFSE Annual Conference in
Bay St. Louis/Hollywood Casino
Hollywood Casino info Click Here We are preparing for the 2012 conference. The Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis has been chosen for the host location. At this time, there is no host fire department. I encourage each member to ask their local businesses for donations for the silent auction and/or ads in the program. We are still working on the agenda. Please submit speaker suggestions to Michael Casey or myself. Keep an eye out for more details soon. I encourage everyone to invite someone who has never been to the conference. This is a great way to increase our membership.
